Miss World: India's winning moments

India holds the highest number of Miss World winners and Venezuela is the only other country to have won so many crowns in this pageant. Let's have a look at the Indian beauties who have managed to bring world at their feet.

Reita Faria, 1966: Reita Faria was the first Indian to win the title of Miss World. She was crowned Miss World 1966 followed by Aishwarya Rai, Diana Hayden, Yukta Mookhey and of course, Priyanka Chopra. (AGENCIES)
Aishwarya Rai, 1994: The hazel-eyed beauty did India proud by clinching the Miss World crown in 1994. Modern India's tryst with the Miss World title began with gorgeous Aishwarya Rai then. (AFP)

Yukta Mookhey, 1999: Yukta Mookhey, one of the most beautiful damsel brought home the crown of Miss World in 1999. She was crowned at the Olympia theatre in London at the 49th Miss World pageant held in London. Though she tried her luck in movies, she never made it big like Aishwarya and Sushmita. (AFP)
Priyanka Chopra, 2000: Priyanka Chopra did it again at the age of 18 when she was crowned Miss World 2000 at a glittering ceremony at London's Millenium Dome. The event marked the crossing of more than one milestone in India's track record in international beauty pageants. The crowning of Priyanka by Yukta Mookey highlighted the fact that an Indian had won the title for the second year in a row. Priyanka was the fifth Miss India to have won the Miss World title. (AFP)
