Filmfare nominees for supporting role

The nominations for the 54th Film Fare Awards have been released. With this the race for grabbing the Indian version of Oscars has begun. Here is a detailed list of contenders for the Best Supporting Actor (Male/Female).

As the Bong beauty made her way and showed some acting skills this year, Bipasha Basu's name on the list was quite certain as she gears up for her nomination for the role of a supporting actor (Female) for the movie Bachna Ae Haseno.
Though the film, Sarkar Raj was not a blockbuster hit at the Box Office, but Abhishek Bachchan still managed to sway many hearts with his serious acting in the movie as he gets nominated for the role of a supporting actor (Male).
Apart form her relationships, the actress was also in news for her acting talent in the movie Fashion for which Kangana got the nomination in the category of supporting actress.
The B-town got its 'rockstar' with the movie Rock On. Though not in the lead role but Arjun Rampal still managed to make his presence feel with his acting in the film. He gets the nomination for the role of the best actor in a supporting role.
Shahana allured the audience with her sexy looks in Rock On. She is the latest budding and sizzling damsel in Bollywood and with her name on the list of best actress in a supporting role she's sure to go places.
This young lad preferd to let his work do all the talking. We are talking about the newest kid on the block, Prateik Babbar who was seen playing an important role in Jaane Tu..Ya Jaane Na. He was the surprise element in the movie for which he got nominated in the category of the best actor in a supporting role.
Adding to her list of comical roles Kirron Kher received rave reviews for her performance in the Dostana playing the mother of Baby AB. For her role she has been nominated in the list of Best Supporting actress. (BCCL/Shantanu Das)
Vinay Pathak has been appreciated for his splendid performance in the recent box-office hit Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi which again got him the nomination of the best supporting actor. (BCCL/Subrata Kotal)
This year, Ratna Pathak Shah appeared in the successful film Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na as the mother of the hero for which she has been nominated as the best supporting actress.
Tusshar Kapoor proved that acting is not all about speaking by starring in a multi-starrer comedy Golmaal Returns as a mute man for which he won much praise from critics and audiences and also got nomination for the best actor in a supporting role.
Sonu Sood won hearts of many with his excellent performance in Jodha Akbar as the brother of Ash, for which he got his share of acclaim by getting nominated for the best supporting actor.
