Jai Jawan

Abhishek Bachchan with Col. Joshi during the special episode of 'Jai Jawan' to pay tribute to the heroes of 'Kargil War' on Vijay Diwas.
In this special episode of 'Jai Jawan' on NDTV, Abhishek visits the Army bunkers at Sando Top. He even tries his hands on firing few rounds with them at their training centre and recounts his experiences while shooting for the movie 'LOC Kargil'.
Abhishek Bachchan responded to the warm hospitality shown by jawans by offering 'Gajar Ka Halwa' and 'Aam Ras' which was specially made by Aishwarya Rai and Jaya Bachchan. The day unfolded with Abhishek reading out phrases from the beautiful poem 'Agnipath' written by his grandfather, Harivansh Rai Bachchan along with a message from his father.















To salute the unsung heroes of India, Abhishek Bachchan travels to some of the locations where 'Kargil' war was fought and interacts with them.

10 years since the war, the soldiers who are still guarding these borders from any threat. Living in harsh climates and hostile conditions their lives are hard, lonely and cut off from the outside world as they guard our borders.

July 26th is celebrated as Kargil Vijay Diwas, the day our jawans defeated the Pakistani infiltrators after fighting for over 40 days at the heights of 'Kargil' and 'Drass' sectors by sacrificing their lives.

Abhishek Bachchan also visited the Vijay Gallery and met two people associated with the Kargil War, Colonel Y.K Joshi and the commanding officer of '13 KAK Rifles' with Barkha Dutt.
