B'wood reunites @ 'Phir Mile Sur'

Bollywood is preparing special for this January 26. Stars will be coming together forgetting all their differences for one of the most popular patriotic song of all time, 'Mile Sur Mera Tumhara'...

'Phir Mile Sur' stars legendary icons like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Salman Khan and A.R Rahman.
The anthem is back again to celebrate New India and has transformed into 'Phir Mile Sur' featuring Abhishek and Aishwarya Bachchan among many celebs in the song.
In a bid to unify the various regions of India through the medium of song and reaffirm the patriotism amongst youth, the iconic song has been recreated. 'Phir Mile Sur' is an Iconic video focusing on national integration and unity in diversity that also features Priyanka Chopra.
And in many ways the song has become an anthem of sorts. 'Phir Mile Sur' has the current favourites and more contemporary notes. Amitabh Bachchan has also sung the song.
It's a song that echoes the emotions of every Indian citizen and also highlights India's unity in diversity. The music legend, Rahman plays the fingerboard in the beginning of the song.
More than 60 known personalities, including actors Aamir Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Salman Khan, Shilpa Shetty and Juhi Chawla along with other prominent personalities feature in the new version of the song.
The video premiered on 26th January, 2010 featuring more than 60 of India's biggest names from Music, Bollywood and Sports. Actress Deepika Padukone also came forward to join hands for this song.
The song has been composed by jazz artists Louis and Geno Banks. It's an effort to create the feeling of unity across borders yet also celebrating the diverse cultural roots of every artist.
It features 22 superstars, 18 musicians, 13 artists and singers and 15 other known personalities.
Featuring in the video is well known musician Sivamani, who says, 'I wanted to do something unique for this, so I started playing drums on water. This has never been done by any artist.'
From Bollywood biggies to music maestros to even sports icons 'Phir Mile Sur' stars over 68 popular artists from different fields.
Olympians Abhinav Bindra, Vijendra Singh and Sushil Kumar are part of the song 'Phir Mile Sur'. This historic piece of music has a valuable hand in keeping the unity of the country.
Shah Rukh Khan has shot for this song of India, standing in the backdrop of the Mumbai-Worli sea link.
Aamir Khan shares the screen in the song with the school kids.
Focusing on the young India, the video of the song 'Phir Mile Sur' includes youth icons like, Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Shahid Kapoor etc.
It is the perfect time for 'Phir Mile Sur' to remind people again of those same feelings of national integrity and unity. Salman Khan features in the video playing football.
'Mile Sur Mera Tumhara' was first witnessed in the year 1988 and after 23 years, the patriotic anthem will be back on 26th Jan 2010. Shilpa Shetty is among the list of celebs featuring in this song.
The sweet melody and different tunes and ragas incorporated from the various parts of India in the song 'Phir Mile Sur' makes one feel instantly proud and give a sense of belonging and a patriotic fervor that will stay in the minds and hearts for a long time. Juhi Chawla is also a part of this song.
The original song was created by the Lok Seva Sanchar Parishad and the new one will be produced by TV channel Zoom from the Bennett & Coleman stable. The song will be unveiled at the 60th Republic Day, by the Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni.
The new version of the popular song is composed by Louis Banks who had also composed the 1988 version of the song along with late P Vaidyanathan and it will also feature musicians like Shankar, Ehsaan, Loy, Shaan, Shreya Ghoshal, Mika to name a few.
